In this game, you're playing a unique setting in which apocalypse is imminent, set in motion by monsters that only your characters can see. In addition to deck construction, character growth is part of the game's story-based gameplay. As characters progress through the game, repressed memory fragments will unlock new powers that will enhance their character. It is often the case that characters find a true threat hidden among the cards at the nexuses of each mission. Each mission is different from the others in terms of setup and goal.

The World contains the starting chapter of Candlepoint, Wisconsin, and also the Skinwalkers chapter. 
The Flesh (expansion) contains four chapters; The Book of the Deathless, The Book of the Fae, The Book of the Golems, and The Book of the Physicians.

The Devil (expansion) contains four more chapters; The Book of the Animus, The Book of the Damned, The Book of the Dreamers, and The Book of the Serpents.
